Women’s Ministry
Biblical womanhood: As we develop the rationale, goals, key tasks and roles in establishing women’s ministry it is important to articulate Biblical foundations for womanhood. Among evangelical Christians there is widespread difference in practice regarding women’s ministry. Clarifying what we understand as a complementarian framework will be useful in establishing the foundations of women’s ministry in the church.
The complementarian position acknowledges that men and women are created as equals before God as persons, in dignity and worth and are distinct in their manhood and womanhood (Gen 1:26-27, 2:18) and thus complement one another through their involvement in different roles in family and church life.
Note: The concept of “Women’s Ministry” has a dual purpose. It involves ministry which is intentionally directed to women as well as women being equipped for and involved in various ministry roles.
